Philip Kramer Bondy was born in New York City in 1917. He graduated from Columbia University, and received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1942. After an internship at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, he completed a residency at Emory University and joined the staff as an assistant professor.
